History: Grower Group
The Taylor family have been farming in Perthshire since 1927, when the late George Taylor bought Moncur Farm at Inchture. In 1986 the family diversified into potatoes. From small beginnings the company has grown rapidly and is now one of the UK's leading potato businesses.
Grower Group, Taygrow Produce was formed in 1996. Taygrow originally comprised 15 growers who committed 1,000 acres of potatoes for Taypack to market. Over the years, due to the success of the group, Taygrow has expanded and now comprises 26 growers who commit almost 5,000 acres.
In 1997 Taylor Transport was founded, predominantly to distribute potato crops for Taypack. However, with the company’s continued success and investment, the original fleet of two articulated vehicles has grown in strength to ten, ranging from 26T rigid to 44T articulated vehicles. The most recent addition to the fleet is a 60T crane vehicle.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our delivery service and to help us maintain a first class service our fleet is fitted with the latest tracking and telemetry systems. We always strive to invest in the latest products, to which our modern fleet is testimony. Whether it is a new articulated tractor unit or a 44ft curtain-sided trailer, we consider the latest innovations to reduce costs, increase longevity and minimise environmental impact.
In 2006, almost 20 years after Taypack was formed, the company diversified again with the addition of Taylors Regional Foods, www.taylorsregionalfoods.co.uk. TRF was set up to source and distribute high quality local food and drink products to a range of customers throughout the UK.
